I really, really admire the men of Easy Company and I consider them my heroes. They are my heroes for showing me what real human relationships consist of. Through them I have learned so much and seen so much that I will never forget. I just wish I could one day meet them and tell them to their faces what they mean to me. I would probably cry if I ever did. The emotional attachments I have to these men are strong and strangely sincere since I have never actually known them in person. I would cry because of all the things they lost along the way. Because of all the hurt they have felt. But mostly I would cry because my heroes actually stood in front of me; flesh and blood, not paper and fiction.

If I could meet just one man in Easy Company, I would like to meet Dick Winters. He is the most amazing man I have ever had the pleasure to get to know (through all the various means of modern society). That will not be possible any more. I sincerely regret that I never wrote him that letter telling him what he means to me, what he symbolises.

Rest in peace, Major, and say hello to your men on the other side.

This came in the mail today. Seven books. I started to read Dick Winter's book and wept after half a page. I don't know if I'm emotionally ready for this. ;_;

I will post reviews on my lj after I've read them. :D

I'm so fucking tired of people assuming I want to be a cook in the army. Yes, I am a woman (it hasn't gone unnoticed, you know). But just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I want to serve food to men. I am a soldier and will be nothing less. I'm not going to crack because of peoples stupidity or prejudices. I don't understand why a penis automatically gives you the right to be whatever you want to be?

For every fucking bump you put in my road I will only grow stronger and faster. So thank you for your prejudice, and thank you for your stupidity. It does me good.
